My little brother, who reads my blog from Taipei, recently mentioned my "photograph of the month" sabbatical. So in light of that passive aggressive nudge, I respond. This photograph was made while I was visiting my brother this past January. Balancing on the back of my aunt's scooter at 50 km/h, I was confronted with the ever mounting tension between space and commercialism Taipei contends with as it pushes into the 21st century...and I clicked the shutter.

My mother is from Taipei and I haven't been back since I was a little girl. Most of my aunts live in San Jose now. I would love to see more pictures of Taipei to see if it is how I remember it...

Linda <<< Cluttered...overcrowded...congested...chock-full...any of these adjectives effectively describe Taipei. But part of me is drawn to that characteristic of the city...it just feels alive.

Hey Fred! Man Taipei is so cluttered! Look at the cluster of air conditioning boxy-type-things on the top right hand corner.. *shudders* I have a phobia of clusters... :| Anyways, good to know there is another Enoch alive... They are rare to find ;)
